With CCP, Vishwajeet meeting Sonia, proposing Grand Alliance to defeat BJP

Valpoi MLA Vishwajeet Rane plans to meet Congress president Sonia Gandhi next week, demanding a Grand Alliance of all the opposition groups, including the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party, to defeat the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party in the forthcoming Assembly election.

In the background of BJP’s debacle in the election of City Corporation of Panaji, Rane also wants that leaders who played spoil sport by fielding Congress panel be held accountable.

“No individual leader should take such important policy decision. The party also cannot take a mass leader like me for granted”, he told goanews.com.

While appreciating the efforts of St Cruz MLA Babush Monseratte, who was expelled by the party earlier, junior Rane said the party should get all such anti-BJP groups together to fight unitedly.

Babush panel won 17 seats in the 30-member CCP, leaving only 13 seats to the BJP, which is ruling at the centre as well as in the state.

According to Rane, Babush panel could have won at least four more seats if the Congress had not fielded its own panel.

But does that mean Babush and all ex-Congressmen should join the Congress?

“How is that possible? They have created their own space. Let’s respect their spaces and tie up all the spaces together”, he proposed.

He thus plans to go to the national capital, taking along with him some MLAs, ex-MLAs as well as leaders of some of these groups.

Which groups, he did not specify.

The proposal of Grand Alliance was earlier made by independent MLA Vijai Sardesai, soon after Bihar election, before the Goa Forward was floated.

Rane is now proposing it from within when party leaders like Luizinho Faleiro have dismissed such proposals in the past.

“CCP election has shown that the mood is for a change and we should work towards the change”, said Rane.

AFTER PANAJI NOW GOA NEEDS TO BE SAVED FROM THE BJP IN 2017 ASSEMBLY POLLS

Kudos to Panjimites. Despite all the fixing and Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar’s highhanded politricks, the BJP was not able to win polls to the Corporation of City of Panaji. Manohar Parrikar had personally monitored and manipulated that politically very tainted delimitation process and the reservations of wards too. He later personally campaigned in Panaji and from Delhi, but the people of Panaji voted very smartly. There is also enough evidence that the Congress backed panel was deviously fielded and funded by the to split the anti-BJP votes.

After witnessing the rampant corruption, sheer bad governance and unending U turns of this government over the last four years, the people of Goa have to now gear for the very crucial 2017 Assembly polls to salvage what remains of a sinking Goa. Through a grand alliance of all Opposition forces, Goans would have to unite and thwart all the underhand moves by the BJP to retain power by dividing the anti-BJP votes. The battle has to be Goa versus the BJP. For Goa to bloom the Lotus must wilt. Jai ho.

Junior Rane is trying to bake his pie on Babush's success. The reality is that this is an indirect signal that disgruntled elements like Vishwajeet might leave Congress at the last minute and form group to align with Babush and Vijay's group.

Jr Rane should propse all the splinter group leaders or solo leader would be offered CM's post plus PWD. That should ensure victory for Khat khatem alliance.
