CM indirectly takes the Church head on for opposing DefExpo

Taking a dig indirectly at the Church-run organisations, Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar today said the same organisations which opposed Konkan railway realignment and are opposing the Mopa airport are today also opposing the Defence Expo.

Parsekar today visited the site of DefExpo at Quitol plateau in Fatorpa panchayat while villagers of Naqueri-Betul staged a demonstration on the road.

Arguments also took place between Curchorem MLA Nilesh Cabral and Aam Aadmi Party leader Valmiki Naik regarding the NOCs taken for the project and for not taking people into confidence when later they went to Ajoba temple adjacent to the site.

The locals however did not allow the discussion, stating that they are fully supporting the project and outsiders need not tell them what to do and what not to.

Parsekar also assured the villagers that his government would not do anything that could harm the village and villagers are not benefited from it.

The villagers included Fatorpa Sarpanch Sanzil D’Costa and panchas as well as the office bearers of Quitol Communidade, on whose plateau the four-day DefExpo would be held from 28 March.

“I really sometimes cannot understand what these people want and what they don’t want. They oppose any good project in Goa”, said the chief minister, referring to the opposition.

The Orixtt Porjecho Avaz of Betul villagers led by Freddy Agnelo Fernandes is supported by Fr Eremito Rebello, convenor of the Goans Only for Dabolim as well as Fr Meveric Fernandes.

While around 200 villagers from Fatorpa panchayat had gathered around the CM in support of DefExpo, equally large number of villagers belonging to Orixtt Porjecho Avaz was seen standing on the road adjacent to the plateau, opposing the project.

Parsekar also told the villagers to get full knowledge of the project when a defence official would make a presentation on 28 February.

Parsekar, during his visit, was accompanied by industries minister Mahadev Naik, agriculture minister Ramesh Tawadkar as well as MLAs Rajan Naik, Subhash Phaldesai and Nilesh Cabral.

I am of firm opinion that religion should not be mixed with politics

As such church has no role in being a political advisory

What konkan railway brought good for Goa, in fact brought all the mess after the Konkan railway in Goa. All thief's and unwanted pupils came to Goa and because of Konkan railways all the murders and rapes and other activities happening in Goa. Goa was not like this before the Konkan railway, our Goa was so peaceful place, and curse on those politicians who were involved to bring in this Konkan railway project.

Politicians are only thinking of their benefits and not of public, they will butter the public in all ways till their dirty projects done and once done they forget the public and put public in disaster that some greedy public not imagine.

Church surely should get involved because public is afraid to approach the corrupt Politician, priest are of one life but public has family to look after, if public get involved then they will be killed and their family will be in disaster. If these politicians are good hearted politicians then they will not talk against church priests. These politicians are evil hearted and wants to destroy our lovely Goa which they already destroyed and what is remaining they want to destroy they are the living devils.

DefExpo are only for big states and not for small states like Goa. They say it’s for 4 days, it’s all lies wait and see dear public what a big U-turn will happen. In North Mopa disaster and in South DefExpo.

Few public who supports are the bribed public who are greedy for money they don't think of the future or they are not of Goan origin BJP paid voters.

Dear Goans be alert and save our loving GOA from these corrupt thief's. Good job fathers and active activists.

CM shouldn't blame the church just because it is not with him on this issue. He should not forget that the same church supported Bjp for last election. Having said this why are church fathers into politics. If they have church support why isn't church launching a political party. Let people know what church think of all issues rather than follow choose and pick issue method.
