Terror suspect Sardana’s remand extended by 4 more days

Sameer Sardana, picked by Goa police under suspicion of having links with terror activities, has been remanded to four days additional police custody.
After he was picked up last week from Vasco railway station by Goa’s Anti-Terrorist Squad, the 44-year old son of Dehradun-based decorated retired major general K N Sardana, has been interrogated thoroughly also by national intelligence bureau.
Nothing suspicious has been found so far even after cracking his password and getting into his laptop, except the fact that he was gathering information regarding bomb blasts.
While he was found moving at the Vasco railway station in a suspicious manner, the young Chartered Accountant practicing in Mumbai was also found to have been using several mobile numbers.
After cracking his laptop, the ATS has also found out that he was operating multiple email accounts.
The alumnus of Doon School has come under scanner with intelligence agencies getting information of the plan of ISIS to attack defence establishments, using military vehicles.
The National Investigation Agency probing into ISIS activities have also gathered information about its plans also to attack foreign tourists in Goa, especially French nationals.
While Sameer’s retired major general father termed his arrest as a mistake identity, the investigation agencies are not letting him free unless he is probed from all the angles.
The police are in the process of gathering information from several agencies – Indian as well as foreign – operating cellular as well as email services.
