Diatom report also rules out Fr Bismarque’s murder

The report of the diatom test has once again ruled out the possibility of Fr Bismarque Dias being murdered, while reaching close to establish that he probably died due to drowning.

“This rules out all possibile theories of murder (of Fr Bismarque) in any other area and then later dumping the body in the area where the body was found”, Crime Branch SP Kartik Kashyap told goanews.com.

His dead body was found floating in river Mandovi at his village of St Estevam on 7 November.

Fr Bismarque had gone for a swim post-midnight on 6 November, after having pint beers along with two boys at Babhol Manos since evening of 5 November.

His dead body was found floating in the river next day morning.

The state however witnessed candle light vigils, morchas and public meetings, suspecting that the priest-turned-social activist must have been murdered.

Fr Bismarque was involved in several social issues, from CRZ violations to the golf course coming up in Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar’s Mandrem constituency.

The case got further complicated with a blood-stained vest found far away from the sluice gate on 17 November while claims were made that the vest must have been belonging to Fr Bismarque.

Besides viscera report, the Goa police have also sought the diatom report from the Central Forensic Sciene Laboratory in Hyderabad.

The police had sent three exhibits – the sternum, lungs and the water sample where his dead body was found floating.

“The diatoms of all the three exhibits are identical”, said SP Kashyap.

Alleging that the Old Goa police were trying to hush up the alleged murder, social activists and organisations had demanded that the probe be handed over to the Crime Branch.

Soon after his body was recovered, the social activists had demanded a second autopsy, alleging that the first autopsy had not identified several injuries on his body, which suspected murder.

However, the second autopsy stated that all the injuries are post-death, caused due to aquatic creatures.

The most-awaited viscera report then arrived on 11 December, which did not show any material in the body that would lead to the possibility of murder.

Following this, now is the diatom report which has once again ruled out murder.

The social activists however are still awaiting final DNA report of Fr Bismarque, matching it with the blood-stained vest found in the area after  10 days.

Meanwhile, the police have also sought permission to conduct a lie detector test on one of the boys accompanying Fr Bismarque to the sluice gate that night.

The Children’s Court however has denied lie detector test of another minor boy.

As a result of all these developments, the family of Fr Bismarque has not collected his dead body till date, to conduct final rites.

As regards Goa such cases should be handed over to people, NGOs etc. Let them conduct inquests, its trial and award judgement of their choice and liking. Democracy to grassroot level. Power to people. Let us implement this in special Goa.

Now what?? All the people crying hoarse blaming police and asserting murder blah blah blah. Bismarque went for a booze with underage boys, how ethical was that, but nobody questioned his wisdom. Just wonder how narrow is the vision of some of our Goan folks!!

Viscera and diatom tests are all FAKE tests. Fr Bismarque is MURDERED and NOT died of drowning by drinking.

CM parsekar and corrupt Old Goa police are hiding the culprits. Goans will give justice to Fr. Bismarque.
