Viscera report of Fr Bismarque rules out murder

The viscera report of Fr Bismarque Dias does not show any suspicious material that would lead the investigation towards the possibility of murder.
NGOs and social activists are up in arms over the death of Fr Bismarque, a priest-turned-social activist, suspecting it to be a murder.
He dead body was found floating in river Mandovi at his village of St Estevam on 7 November.
The activists now hope that the real clue would come out of DNA report of the blood-stained vest found near the sluice get, from where Fr Bismarque had gone for a swim post-midnight on 6 November.
His dead body was found floating the next day morning while the blood-stained vest was found on 17 November.
“All possible tests were conducted by the Central Institute of Forensic Laboratory at Hyderabad, but nothing suspicious is detected so far”, said Crime Branch SP Kartik Kashyap.
The police however plan to hand the report over to the GMC hospital who would submit the authorised report.
Though viscera report of chemical analysis of the body comes only after three months, the state authorities got the report within a month by following the matter consistently.
The DNA report of the blood-stained vest however would take at least 20 more days, state the police.
Adv Swati Kerkar and Kennedy Afonso, two social activists, have told section of the media that the real truth would come out when comes the DNA report of the vest comes in hand.
The social activists suspect that the vest belongs to Fr Bismarque and he was murdered.
“We had no much expectation from the viscera report as it detects only poisoning and not murder”, says Adv Kerkar.
The police however had said they would register the case of unnatural death as murder only after the viscera report comes.
Meanwhile, the local court has also permitted the police to conduct lie detector test on Daniel Vaz, one of the boys who spent the night with Fr Bismarque on 5 November.
The decision about another minor boy would be taken by the Juvenile Justice court probably this week as the hearing is fixed on 14 December.
Both the boys had spent the night with Fr Bismarque at the Babhol Manos (sluice gate), drinking almost two cartons of pint beer.
The social activists however have decided to take ahead the agitation by convening a protest meeting on 12 December at Lohia Maidan in Margao.
