Ravi blames CM, hints at Mickky & Sudin in drug nexus indictment

Former home minister Ravi Naik alleged today that indicting him in the House Committee report on drug nexus is nothing but an attempt to settle scores against him for taking legal action against them, especially those involved in the Nadia suicide case and Margao bomb blast attempt on the eve of Diwali.
Though Ravi made this allegation in an unsigned press note issued today at the press conference, he did not name any politician in particular, except chief minister Manohar Parrikar.
The House Committee headed by Goa Vikas Party leader Mickky Pacheco has indicted both Ravi and his son Roy in the alleged nexus between drug dealers and the police department.
Two members of the committee – Vishnu Wagh and Michael Lobo, incidentally belonging to the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party – refused to sign the report, claiming the allegations are made without any evidence.
“This itself is enough to prove that the report is not authentic and has no credibility”, said Naik.
Though Ravi in his unsigned press note has clearly pointed out at Mickky as well as PWD minister Sudin Dhawalikar in Nadia suicide case and bomb blast attempt in Margao, he declined to name them on camera.
“People are wise enough to understand whom I refer it to”, he said.
He also said it is a clear attempt to malign his ‘clean’ political image by the Goa Vikas Party and the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party.
The House committee members are Mickky and Caitu Silva of the GVP and Lavu Mamledar of the MGP, he said, who have signed the report.
Mamledar defeated Ravi in Ponda in the last Assembly election.
Till the end, at the press conference, Ravi however could not tell whether the BJP is opposed to him when two of its MLAs have not signed the House committee report.
“The chief minister has masterminded it, but I am not aware about the BJP”, he said.
The former home minister also claimed it as an attempt to silence him in view of forthcoming Lok Sabha election.
However, when asked whether he plans to contest the election, he said: “may be, but I have no plans so far.”
Ravi now plans to talk to all his nine Congress colleagues in the Assembly to oppose the House Committee report.
While claiming that he did not even spare police officers involved in drug trade during his tenure, Ravi said his action had annoyed some politicians, who were getting protection money from drug peddlers and organizers of rave parties.
“There were even letters naming some of the coastal politicians involved in drug trade, but I could not act since there was no strong evidence found against them”, he said, while refusing to name them.
He also argued how he could refer the whole drug trade case to the CBI if he or his son Roy were involved in the drug trade.
He also reminded that two drug peddlers – Atala and Duddu – were arrested during his tenure and he had even approached the Interpol when Atala jumped the bail and fled outside the country.
“The entire report nowhere shows single iota of evidence to prove involvement of me or my son in the drug trade”, he points out.
The former Ponda MLA also alleged that the boys named in the report as their accomplices in the alleged drug trade are in fact his workers, working for him during Ponda municipal election.
Its a sad thing to see that the So called people the Government who call them self the leaders of this state corrupted to the core playing a blame game and blaming each other instead of handling things correctly, This full Nigerian Fiasco was handled so badly calling them names, blaming them without actually knowing the truth, and now that they know its the Goans them self, they try to wash their hands.
First of all if the Government was really serious about Goa they should first change them self before wanting to change others, Get the facts right, and have a tough law enforcement,before its to late to regret. The Politicians have shamed Goa because they are not qualified or do not know how to have a simple census of Foreign tourist residing in the state.
If the government wants to come clean start arresting the Goan who are the first people to entertain this drug business.
