VHP wants 'Hindutwa' PM
GOANEWS DESK, PANAJI | 07 June 2013 22:45 ISTVHP leader Ashok Chowgule
The Vishwa Hindu Parishad wants a strong leader who can take ahead the ideology of Hindutwa as India’s prime minister.
Ashok Chowgule, a Goan industrialist and VHP leader, today told CNN-IBN that he would prefer a prime minister who can not only put the VHP ideology in perspective but can firmly implement it.
The question, obviously, was aimed at Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi as the prime minister of India.
“It is not individuals that matter, what matters is the ideology”, Chowgule told CNN-IBN.
According to him, the BJP has drastically changed in the last 17 years and time has come to have a strong leader, just not an organisation that talks about the Hindutwa ideology.
He also listed out the priorities like having uniform civil code for India, ending communal violence against Hindus and save temples from destruction.
Can Modi be this strong leader, he was asked.
“I can’t say yes or no, because what matters is ideology, not individuals”, he reiterated.
What is Hindu ideology any way. To worship man made gods?
