The rightful father of KONKANI is none other than the Konkani Pandit Waman Raghunath Varde Walaulikar, more better known as Shenoi Goembab. Today we do not find a single statue of this great man anywhere in Goa. He was the intellectual, who fought for our mother tongue Konkani much much before the movement and struggle started in Goa for Konkani. Today hardly anyone talks about this great man. Everybody seems to be putting up the statue of Shivaji throughout Goa, who though a good man, is not a son of Goa. Whereas this great son of Goa Shenoi Goembab has been forgotten even in his own birth place Bicholim - It is a real shame to forsake and forget our great Goan personalities. – Menino (Valpoi)
