This is dangerous, at least on three counts;
1. There is so much release of toxic gases,
2. wastage of foreign reserves,
3. Innocent dying on badly maintained roads.
Instead, the Govt. should try to set up an efficient public transportation system, water ways and trains should also be encouraged. Public transportation should be made efficient and subsidized, discouraging general public to use their personal vehicles.
It is definitely doable, but the Govt. of Digamber Kamat is clearly clueless on constructive and Eco-friendly long term policy. You tell Digamber, and he will say, "OK, I will study the matter, and get back you"-- which of course he will never!
